I am a third year student at the University of Cape Town (UCT), specializing in Multimedia Production.
I have a keen interest in intersectional feminism, Islamic feminism, representation in media and the relationship between activism and social media.

Treeshake 2022-present
I am currently working as an intern at a digital marketing firm called Treeshake. I do community management on Facebook and Instagram.
Her Campus UCT 2021-Mar 2022
In 2021, I was part of the Editing Subcommittee and Creative Team for the UCT chapter of Her Campus, a multinational online magazine aimed at university students. I copy-edited articles written by contributors and created content for their social media pages. I was the co-Creative Director from October 2021 until March 2022. My role consisted of planning and creating social media content, as well as developing the brand aesthetic.

Amnesty International UCT 2020-present
In 2020, I was the Research and Campaign Portfolio Director for Amnesty International UCT. I am currently on the Executive Committee as Secretary-General. My role has mainly consisted of planning online events and spearheading online campaigns regarding human rights.

Winged Tutoring 2019-2020
I worked as an English and Afrikaans tutor for primary and high school students. In 2020, I also became the Marketing Manager. My job entailed liaising with my boss, creating social media posts, managing social media pages, raising brand awareness and expanding our client base.

Media Centre Monitor 2015-2018
I was involved with the Media Centre at my high school. The job entailed the processing, shelving and stock-take of books, using library software in order to issue, return, reserve books and being approachable and patient when dealing with fellow customers. I was the Head Monitor in my matric year, giving me experience with leading a team effectively.

Member of “The Bug” School Magazine 2015-2017
“The Bug” is an informal quarterly print publication. Each edition has a different theme. I participated by assisting in developing the themes and generating article ideas, while also writing and formatting them.
